Savyon Sordean, LMSW

A positive relationship can heal. Savyon strives to provide a space for you to begin the journey of self-discovery, self-reflection, and growth.  When working as a clinician, Savyon’s philosophy focuses on the healing nature of connection between people, and strives to bring empathy, compassion, and presence into the therapeutic space. Savyon’s practice is grounded in feminist, relational, mindfulness, attachment-based, and psychodynamic theories, with consideration of critical race theory and the effects of racism, sexism, homophobia, and other oppressive forces that impact everyone’s lives, especially those holding marginalized identities.

During her graduate school training, Savyon worked at a middle school for a year, followed by work in a bereavement setting. Savyon found grief work to be powerful in witnessing the resilience of human beings who have gone through deep pain and suffering. After graduating with her MSW, Savyon worked at Emory University Counseling and Psychological Services to provide group and individual therapy to the Emory student population.

While working towards licensure she is being supervised by Ashley Marx (Self-Led Counseling LLC) who has been in practice for almost 20 years. Through this supervision, Savyon is developing a skillset in Internal Family Systems theory and Polyvagal Theory. Savyon is currently accepting clients age 17 and up.

Whether you’re looking to improve your relationship with yourself, your relationships with others, your communication, or find more joy in your daily life, Savyon invites you to reach out to see if you can work collaboratively in starting this journey together.
